Liposuction - liposculpture

Local fat deposits may make you feel like your body is not balanced. If diet and exercise do not work to eliminate those annoying fat deposits, liposuction can be a solution. Your body is brought back into balance and will remain balanced for an extended period of time. The removed fat cells that are removed do not return.

Liposuction: what is it exactly?

Literally, liposuction means the draining (suction) of fat (lipo). The liposuction can actually be considered as the precursor to the liposculpture. Liposuction is a treatment in which local fat is removed by means of suction to improve the body shape. Another word for liposuction is liposculpture.

Liposuction vs. liposculpture: is there a difference?

Liposuction and liposculpture are two terms that are often used interchangeably and basically mean the same thing. Originally, large 'suction tubes' of 10-12 mm were used for liposuction, which meant that only the deeper fat could be sucked out. Due to the new, advanced techniques of liposculpture, the removal of fat is now much more efficient with finer cannulas of 2-4 mm.

Why consider liposuction?

In places such as the abdomen, legs, buttocks, arm, neck, chin, back, and other body parts, fat deposits may occur that are disproportionate to the rest of the body. Despite a lot of exercise or a diet, the local fat remains, while losing weight in other body parts (e.g. in the breast or face).

A solution for removing local fat is liposuction or liposculpture. Draining away this local fat can make the thickness of the fat layer equal to the rest of the body. Liposuction is possible on every part of the body, but is usually performed on the abdomen, thighs, knees or arms.

Liposuction can be a good solution for people with excess fat in specific places. It is certainly not a slimming method. People who have excess fat all over their body will not find a solution to their problem with liposuction alone. However, it can be an incentive to eat better and exercise more.
